Community Service
In my conversations with Susan Topping at the City
of Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation, Volunteer
Coordination Office, she has identified several
parks in our area that are available for Community
Service Clean Up. I told her that we would schedule
a clean-up for the Red Mill Farms Park located on
Sandbridge Road within the next four weeks.
It appears as though an hour or two after school may
suit the scouts most favorably. I will be talking
with Shane Etheridge and establish a couple of dates
that adult leadership is available. In the
meantime, if the scouts have a preference
and would like to post that information on the web
we may be able to achieve a better response to the
troop project as well as allow the scouts to meet
community service advancement requirements.
So Scouts, check your calendars and let me
know which day after school is best for you!
